The World Bank High Committee Members and MoNE Project Implementation Unit made a site-visit to Education Infrastructure for Resilience Project Ankara-Pursaklar construction site.
The World Bank High Committee Members made a site-visit to primary school construction with 32 classrooms in Ankara Pursaklar within the scope of Education Infrastructure for Resilience Project conducting by MoNE, Department of Construction and Real Estate through The World Bank and EU financial support.
During the site- visit; From the World Bank, Steven SCHONBERGER, Eavan O’HALLORAN, Elif AYHAN, Ayşe ERKAN, Salih ERDURMUŞ and from MoNE, Umut GÜR (Head of Construction and Real Estate Department), Fatih Mehmet ORUÇ (Head of Construction Works Department), representatives of Project Implementation Unit, consultant and contractor company authors were presence.
Along the visit, all the details of the primary school with 32 classrooms from the basement to the top floor, gardens and all the details were examined and detailed information was given to the World Bank high committee. Also Umut GÜR and Fatih Mehmet ORUÇ provided information about constructuons including the disaster resistance, concrete quality, architectural and mechanical properties of the building, design and equipment details etc.
World Bank Europe and Central Asia Regional Director for Sustainable Development Steven SCHONBERGER said that the concrete outputs of the project are impressive and that the light getting structure of the schools, the architectural features and the point of the project are promising.
Umut GÜR, Head of Construction and Real Estate Department, stated that intensive efforts are being made to ensure that the project proceeds in accordance with the timetable and that the construction will be turned into exemplary schools. Umut GÜR emphasized that it is the product of a high-level approach in all aspects from the architectural structure of the schools to the smart boards to be found in the classrooms, and added that the pre-school education classes included in the primary school facilitate the transition of children from kindergarten to primary school.
The site – visit was completed after briefing and photo shoot in the construction site hall.
Within the scope of Education Infrastructure for Resilience Project, which will be implemented with a budget of 150 million Euros and 57 schools will be built, the constructions are planned to be completed in 2019-2020 academic year and thus an additional capacity of 44.160 students will be created.
