Education Infrastructure for Resilience Project “Local Information Meetings” serious executed by the Ministry of National Education Construction and Real Estate Department via the World Bank with the European Union support was continued to be conducted in Bursa.

Detailed information was provided to the participants about various topics such as the school qualifications, construction programs, project communication within the environment and social management framework during the meetings which aim to introduce the projects to the target groups at local level.

Mr. Fahrettin Göncü, Deputy Governor, Mr. Özcan Duman, Head of the Construction and Real Estate Department, Mr. Fatih Mehmet Oruç, Head of the Construction Works, Mr. Sabahattin Dülger, Provincial Director of the National Education, mukhtars, school administrations, local authorities and representatives of the Non-Governmental Organizations participated in the meeting.

“Access of Our Children to Education is Guaranteed with Our Investments and Implemented Projects”

Mr. Özcan Duman, Head of the Construction and Real Estate Department who participated in the Local Information Meeting and delivered the opening speech underlined that the project is executed successfully with the increased financial support and new implementation provinces. 

Mr. Özcan Duman told that 34 million of Syrian Under Temporary Protection have currently resided in Turkey and 1,1 million of this figure are at school-aged. “Education is a basic right of every child in all over the world. This is guaranteed with 42 nd Article of the Turkish Law. 215 schools will be constructed in 19 provinces and the cooperation environment created within the implementation provinces has an important role in the implementation success.

10 schools will be constructed with an investment in the amount of 110 Million TL in Bursa and an additional capacity with approx. 7.200 student in 240 classrooms will be established. Mr. Özcan Duman told that there is an intensive work on the site and ended his speech that “we extend our thanks to all; Governorship, Provincial Director of National Education, AFAD, District Governorship, Municipalities, School Administration, Mukhtars and ones who contribute and support us”.

“We Wish to Grow up Our Children with a Historical and Strong Bond Within the School Where All Children Could Access to Education with a Firm Brotherhood”

Mr. Sabahattin Dülger, the Provincial Director of National Education who delivered speech during the meeting told that “Our unity which becomes stronger with the principle of the inherited brotherhood by the architecture of our strong civilization will be protected with the Education Infrastructure for Resilience Project within the investments via these educational facilities. We wish to grow up children both from Syrian under temporary protection and Turkish community on the basis of the historical and strong bond via these educational facilities with a firm brotherhood bond. Currently, 18.489 Syrian children are educated by receiving the same service with the Turkish students. We have a neighbor relation, I am proud of telling that we, Turkish Community, never isolate Syrian children.

Under Project, 10 schools in 6 district (Gemlik, Osmangazi, Mudanya, Mustafakemalpaşa, İnegöl ve Yıldırım) will be constructed and 248 classrooms in total will be provided in Bursa. With these schools, both Syrian guests and Turkish community children will be educated at the same desks. Within this scope, I want to extend my thanks on behalf of Bursa Education Foundation to all our partners who contributed to realize this project and you Esteemed Participants”.

215 Educational Facilities in 19 provinces will be constructed a financial support in the amount of 473 Million Euro under the implemented Projects Education for All in Times of Crisis I&II and Education Infrastructure for Resilience. Besides, all required equipment will be provided. An additional capacity with approx. 153.000 students in 215 schools will be established with the implemented projects.

It is envisaged to conduct “Local Information Meeting” planned within the framework of the Communication Strategy in İzmir, Konya, Mersin, Kilis, Kayseri, Mardin, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa and Diyarbakır in addition to 4 provinces where such meetings have been conducted so far.
