60 of 163 schools built under the Education for All in Times of Crisis I&II Projects were designed as prefabricated (steel construction) schools.
10 of the 60 prefabricated schools built were planned in the camp areas created after the Syrian migration. Prefabricated schools, which are preferred for emergency response to the crisis, can be built in as short as 4 months. Thanks to our prefabricated schools, many of our children in the camps had the opportunity to continue their education.
Adana was one of the provinces most affected by the migration wave that started with the Syrian crisis. The Saricam Camp Area, established in Adana, currently houses approximately 35,000 Syrian refugees under Temporary Protection. With the construction of 2 prefabricated schools with 23 classrooms built in this region for 1 year, the school road was opened for the children living in the camp.
