Education Infrastructure for Resilience Project “Local Information Meetings” serious executed by the Ministry of National Education Construction and Real Estate Department through the World Bank with the European Union support was conducted in Kahramanmaraş.
Detailed information was provided to the participants about various topics such as the school qualifications, construction programs, project communication within the Environment and Social Management Framework during the meetings which aim to introduce the projects to the target groups at local level.
Governorship, University, Provincial Directors, municipalities, mukhtars, school administrations within the regions where the schools are constructed, coordinators of Syrian children, a large number of participants from the Provincial Directorate of National Education participated in the meeting.
“The Milestone of the Project Success is the Local Cooperation”
Mr. Fatih Mehmet Oruç, Head of the Construction Works participated in the Local Information Meeting and delivered opening speech. He also underlined that although the project opening was conducted in September 27, 2017 activities have been conducting in a planned way since January 2018.
Mr. Oruç stated that there are many works from the communication works to the construction process, consultancy and site visits within the Project. Mr. Fatih Mehmet Oruç also told that “One of the most important topics increasing the motivation is the cooperation environment between Governorships at provincial level, Provincial Directorate of National Education, District Governorships, AFAD, Syrian Coordinators, School Administrations, Mukhtars and others”.
“A Rapid Progress Have Been Made with the Cooperation Environment in Kahramanmaraş”.
Mr. Mehmet Emin AKKURT, Kahramanmaraş Provincial Director of National Education who delivered speech during the Local Information Meeting underlined that the inter-institutional cooperation and solution-oriented approach at the provincial level and Governorship coordination play a key role in reaching success. Mr. AKKURT mentioned that a rapid progress has been made in Kahramanmaraş with the synergy at provincial level and preparatory works are conducted for the probable enlargement potential within the next terms of the project.
56 reinforced concrete educational facilities in 12 provinces will be constructed under the Project. Besides, all required equipment will be provided. An additional capacity with approx. 40.000 students in 56 schools will be established with the implemented projects.
It is envisaged to conduct “Local Information Meeting” planned within the framework of the Communication Strategy in Bursa, İzmir, Konya, Mersin and Kilis in addition to Adana, Hatay and Kahramanmaraş.
